The Vice President, Business Development is a dedicated resource that ensures customer satisfaction and strategic sales growth year over year by working collaboratively with RQM+ team members to ensure the customer sees the ever-growing value of RQM+.  The position demonstrates leadership to maintain and expand relationships within an existing strategic customer as well as lead, along with the sales team, the acquisition of customer accounts as assigned by RQM+ in line with RQM+’s commercialization strategy.  The VP, Business Development provides point of contact leadership with existing customer accounts ensuring a high and consistent level of quality service, customer support and satisfaction, and drives the organizations sales budget for the strategic customer for the current year and into the future.  High level of intuition is required to accurately predict the next step for the strategic customer so that RQM+ can be ahead and aligned as well as an ability to persuade the strategic customer of the continued need and value of RQM+.  This role is an integral part of the customer’s business and project planning processes. 

Responsibilities:

    • Leads Sales activities that result in meeting or exceeding annual targets within existing assigned strategic customers and assists sales leads within the region in assessing and engaging potential strategic customers.
    • Remain aligned with RQM+’s overall commercialization and sales strategies to achieve the revenue and gross margin goals of the organization.
    • Conducts contract, business and operational discussions with Facility, Divisional and Corporate executives within select organizations and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Participates in business and project planning activities within customer organizations.
    • Conducts regular quarterly or semi-annual customer business reviews focused on all relevant projects, objectives, accomplishments, and industry updates.  Prepare issue analysis, status updates, and special reporting for key client leaders.
    • Ensures key support departments are aligned with account requirements.
    • Work with legal on necessary amendments for master agreements
    • Work with legal and finance to ensure contract requirements are defined and implemented.
    • Develops and cultivates long-term relationships with existing customers to provide ongoing sales.
    • Lead, along with the sales team and Consulting Services counterparts, the acquisition of additional accounts.
    • Identifies new internal customer targets and opportunities to increase sales with existing customers.
    • Leads the promotion of RQM+ through a variety of marketing tactics & strategies.
    • Prepares estimates, presentations, and service agreements.
    • Develops and maintains product knowledge.
    • Establishes and maintains current client and potential client relationships.
    • Manages the quality of account services through direct follow-up with the Program Management Office (PMO) at R&Q and client as well as other activities as appropriate.
    • Identifies and resolves client concerns.
    • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

    • Bachelors’ degree required in related field with a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in regulatory and/or quality, required. 
    • Must have direct experience working in medical devices, diagnostic, life science or relevant consulting services firms.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Account Management or Sales role with large medical device customer accounts required
    • Demonstrated persuasion and consensus building skills dealing with large customer accounts, having the ability to interact with all levels in the organization with an emphasis on VP and above, required. 
    • Experience in working in the consulting service industry or similar service organization with a record of successful client engagements, required. 
    • Demonstrated history of developing and maintaining long term sales relationships. 
    • Proven ability to quickly learn and ascertain both business and Account skills to support the changing demands of both the customer and R&Q.  
    • A strong understanding of and direct experience in regulatory and/or quality services and industry experience completing this service is required.
    • Strong understanding of medical device development required. 
    • Excellent written, verbal and formal presentation skills to client audiences ranging from Engineers through the CEO. 
    • ·A strong sense of urgency required.
