SAIT's School of Construction is hiring a Work Integrated Learning Coordinator.
This permanent, salaried position includes benefits and reports directly to the Manager, Support Services.

Empower Students: Support work placements, internships, and employment opportunities, helping students kickstart their careers.
Build Relationships: Foster strong connections with employers, faculty, academic chairs, and various SAIT teams.
Drive Excellence: Manage data, share information, and stay committed to program initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and communication excellence.

The Role

    • Partner/Client Relations:
    • Liaise with Academic Chairs on targeting work-integrated learning (WIL) program initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain industry relationships to support student work experience, work-integrated learning opportunities, and employment pathways.
    • Central contact and representative for work-integrated learning inquiries and opportunities for the School of Construction.
    • Collaborate with Student Career Advancement and other teams within SAIT on employment initiatives.
    • Connect students with on-campus career resources.
    • Represent the School at SAIT meetings and events related to work-integrated learning.
    • Assist and participate in Program Advisory Committee meetings.
    • Educate industry on program outcomes, student skillsets, and employer expectations in relation to  work-integrated learning.

    • Program Administration & Coordination:
    • Create and maintain processes and documentation for work-integrated learning practicum and internship programs.
    • Assist with practicum registration and delivery.
    • Plan and assist with work-integrated learning components of student capstones.
    • Plan and organize events for internship and practicum programs.
    • Update documentation and promotional materials for work-integrated learning activities.
    • Contribute to the effective operation of the school by performing other duties when needed.

    • Data Management & Analysis:
    • Maintain a database of employer and recruiter contacts.
    • Track student employment information.
    • Analyze feedback data to create improvements for work-integrated learning programs.

    • Communication & Outreach:
    • Implement communication plans to raise awareness of work-integrated learning opportunities.
    • Provide accurate information on school programs to students.

    • Student Support & Career Development:
    • Assist students with career development and work-integrated learning opportunities through information sessions and appointments.

    • Quality Assurance & Accreditation:
    • Assist in program quality and accreditation activities (Technology Accreditation Canada, Campus Alberta Quality Council, Annual Quality Review).

Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in work-integrated learning or business development planning/coordination.
    • Preferred: Degree/Diploma in business, education, or construction-related field.
    • Strong knowledge of post-secondary programs, especially work placement/practicum/co-op terms.
    • Current knowledge of industry employment trends.
    • Post-secondary work experience is an asset.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

    • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, Orbis and Banner SIS preferred.

Salary Range: $59,675.20 - $67,121.60
Hours Per Week: 40
