The Role
- Instruction in Automotive Service Technician theory and practical curriculum
- Instruct and demonstrate course outline objectives, projects, and outcomes
- Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
- Evaluate student progress and achievement
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified Red Seal Journeyman Automotive Service Technician
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ recent industry experience in the Automotive Service Technician trade with experience in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of passenger vehicles
- Experience and ability to teach trade math equivalent to grade 11 level
- Ability to read, interpret and deliver curriculum pertaining to the Automotive Service Technician trade
- Teaching or training experience would be considered an asset
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others, with a willingness to spend quality time to help students succeed.
- Comfortable with public speaking and have the ability to engagingly convey conceptual and practical course subjects to diverse students and learning styles
- Ability to organize course concepts and materials to create an optimal learning environment
- Experience with synchronous Online instruction would be an asset
- Experience in Health & Safety requirements related to the Automotive Industry Environment
- Possess a positive respectful attitude and desire to support team members and the Academic Chair with program improvements and new course development
- Ability to adapt to situations such as unexpected workloads
- Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Brightspace (LMR) and Zoom would be preferred

Salary range: $90,588.00 - $113,389.00
