The Opportunity

This position reports to the Assistant to the Deans & Administrative Team Lead and will champion curriculum administration and related processes within the School of Hospitality and Tourism. The Curriculum & Projects Administrator interacts regularly with faculty and academic leadership within the school, as well as key stakeholders across SAIT (i.e. Centre for Applied Education Innovation, Centre for Academic Development and Innovation, The Office of Quality Assurance and the Office of the Registrar). 

Core duties include:
•Ensure that programs and courses are accurately set up and changes made appropriately.
•Provide support for curriculum activities through processing, tracking, and archiving curriculum change requests to facilitate curriculum excellence.
•Support and train faculty on relevant curriculum processes.
•Support with curriculum governance projects and annual reporting.

In addition to curriculum support, this position will leverage its technical and high-level computer literacy to support with various projects that require the assistance of the administrative team. This will entail collaboration with fellow administrative team colleagues, as well as other stakeholders within the school.

The Role

    • Curriculum Program Management (60%)
    • Maintain a “Power User” status in the use of the curriculum management, curriculum change and course repository system
    • Consult with Academic Leadership, Faculty, and other stakeholders regarding course and program changes, curriculum projects, including degree projects
    • Manage and follow up on the curriculum maintenance process following SAIT policy, processes, and Management of the Academic Year 
    • Maintain and update program map documents. Manage the D2L Brightspace bulk-loading paperwork and process throughout the academic year
    • Perform curriculum-related research for Dean and Associate Deans, as required
    • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other curriculum stakeholders across campus

    • Project Administration (40%)
    • Use technology to automate processes and enhance efficiencies 
    • Support various project teams with administrative work duties
    • Assist in front desk support handling information requests from students, staff, and the general public, by phone, e-mail, Teams, Fresh Desk, or in-person
    • Assist with special events and conferences, internal/external meetings, invitations, room bookings, and ordering 
    • Enhance performance through courses, workshops, and self-study

Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum
    • High School diploma 
    • 2 years of relevant experience
    • High comfortability with MS Office Suite and emerging software tools (i.e ChatGBT)

    • Preferred
    • Certificate or diploma in Office Administration or equivalent education strongly preferred.
    • Prior experience in a post-secondary environment is an asset
    • Hospitality industry experience an asset
    • Familiarity with Banner, Acalog, Curriculog, D2L Brightspace
