Job Description
-Hands on experience of developing composite polymer electrolytes (CPE) using both oxide and sulfide solid electrolytes
-Develop solid electrolytes for building high performance solid-state batteries
-Direct experience of developing high C-rate capable solid-state batteries with a focus on materials and techniques for low interface resistance
-Assemble lithium metal anode-based coin and pouch cells with solid electrolyte and conduct testing with a focus on repeatability and scalability
-Perform crystal structure, microstructure, particle size and interface studies
-Electrochemical tests skills such as voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, cycle life testing, and reliability tests to understand, and improve the performance of the anode, cathode, solid electrolyte materials and solid-state batteries
-Effectively plan and communicate on DOE, results, document and present
-Basic knowledge of safe handling of materials and general safety knowledge
-Maintain general lab safety and daily work cleanliness

Qualifications: Qualifications and Skills
-Ph.D. in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field with focus on electrochemistry, material science or related field.
-Prefer one plus year industrial experience in the same area.
-Strong knowledge and background of polymers suitable for composite solid electrolytes.
-Knowledge of oxide, sulfide and composite solid electrolyte materials processing and experience with solid-state battery development is must.
-Hands-on experience of slurry formulation and coating
-Knowledge and understanding of battery materials including cathode active material and lithium metal anode, cell design, cathode fabrication, cell assembly and pouch sealing, testing, failure mode analysis, data analysis and documentation.
-Computer skills of testing coin and pouch cells.
-The candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and must be able to design and conduct complex experiments, employing DOE approach to interpret and correlate experimental results with battery product performance and present.
-Desire to learn new experimental and analytical techniques.
-Excellent documentation, oral and written communication skills and ability to work as a team player in a multi-functional and multi-cultural environment.
