Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer
 
To support our mission to reimagine the manufacturing process, you will join our Additive Manufacturing team to craft the operational procedures for developing the state-of-the-art additive manufacturing platform.
 
Responsibilities
·         Focus on developing and scaling up novel electrode printing manufacturing techniques.
·         Design and execute experimental plans and generate related reports.
·         Conduct hands-on laboratory experiments utilizing multiple machines simultaneously.
·         Work alongside and direct a team of technicians on a daily basis.
·         Contribute to process validations and integrate processes in production pilot line.
·         Establish quality control specifications for the processes and electrode materials.
·         Analyze and characterize existing processes, implementing necessary controls for critical parameters, and enhancing the stability and resilience of the processes.
·         Attend and support regular project meetings, present and provide summary reports.
·         Develop and maintain project schedules.
·         Follow all safety procedures, including handling hazardous chemicals and company policies and procedures.
 
Required Skills/Experience
·         Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with different additive manufacturing techniques such as binder jetting, powder bed fusion, and inkjet.
·         Demonstrated hands-on lab work skills, including chemical, powder, and slurry handling, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
·         Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in working with powder formulation, processing, and
·         characterization.
·         Ability to utilize data-driven Six Sigma methodologies in process improvement activities.
·         Must be able to take ownership, initiative, analytical, and thorough.
·         Organized, detail-oriented, and a team player.
 
Preferred Skills/Experience
·         Certified Six Sigma practitioner, or higher, is highly desired.
·         Previous experience in battery process and engineering is highly desired.
 
Physical Requirements
·         Ability to communicate in real-time with co-workers, and external contacts
·         Ability to navigate a lab environment, including manipulating and moving materials, lab equipment, and tool carts, while demonstrating good safety practices and common sense; ability to work while wearing proper PPE in a lab environment for up to 60% of the time
·         Ability to do repetitive work for prolonged periods of time
·         Ability to take accurate measurements and readings while utilizing microscopes, and other tools
·         Travel frequency will be incidental
 
Location
Sakuú’s culture is best experienced in person, and selected candidates will be expected to work onsite in our South San Jose location.  Remote work schedules are not available.
$118,000 - $122,000 a year
The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $ 118,000 to $ 122,000. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, Sakuú offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
