Samba TV is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced sales management professional for a Head of Industry role. This individual will be responsible for overseeing members of our regional sales team, empowering them to prospect, cultivate, manage, and expand a substantial portfolio of accounts.

This team member will lead a regional team of individual contributors in developing long-term, high-value strategic partnerships with brand advertisers and leading advertising agencies of various sizes. They will utilize their exceptional leadership and coaching skills, deal structure and negotiation expertise, deep knowledge and domain expertise in both TV and Digital advertising to develop the right environment, processes, and team that will deliver sustained revenue, market share, and talent growth. The successful candidate will possess a proven ability to plan, forecast, and exceed revenue targets. They will constantly enhance the team’s capabilities, and productivity, through strategic prioritization, coaching, thought leadership, strategic planning, data driven performance optimization, and collaboration with internal partners. The role will work in partnership alongside Vertical Named Accounts teams, and work to build, and shift accounts between Regional, and Vertical teams. The position will report to the US VP, Agency and Brand Sales.

Responsibilities

    • Manage and cultivate a high-performing, regionally aligned sales team by establishing goals and strategic business plans, monitoring performance, and providing strategic direction
    • Produce accurate revenue forecasts and consistently surpass revenue targets.
    • Present Samba TV’s solutions to key decision makers within agencies to drive the adoption of Samba TV products and services among both new and existing clients.
    • Educate, guide, and assist the team in executing through the sales process including prospecting, needs analysis, sales solution development, negotiation, and closing.
    • Spearhead the development and execution of client retention strategies.
    • Collaborate with internal support teams to ensure clear communication of expectations and the delivery of maximum levels of client-facing customer service.
    • Represent Samba TV in the digital and TV advertising and analytics marketplace, and be a highly visible brand advocate.
    • Work to prioritize focus and territory priorities within a large book of business

Requirements

    • Must have a proven track record of meeting / exceeding revenue goals, client retention, and new business development success.
    • Intellectually curious – Demonstrated ability to keep up with market trends and adapts approach to the environment.
    • Demonstrate high levels of self-awareness and empathy.
    • 2-3 years of experience leading and mentoring high performing regional or emerging sales teams.
    • 7+ years of experience selling to ad agencies and brands, with a strong emphasis on multi product sales, including programmatic data digital and TV.
    • In depth knowledge of the Ad-tech and Mar-tech ecosystem and how brands and agencies connect use the technology to achieve their goals.
    • Experience selling measurement and product bundling a strong plus
    • Devotion to high velocity, high output, prospecting activity levels
    • Executive presence – ability to communicate with excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
    • Proven Ability to identify, attract, recruit and retain top talent.
    • Experience with brand direct sales a plus
    • Motivational coach and trainer, with the ability to build positive and productive working relationships and foster creativity, innovation and integrity within a team.
    • Understanding of quota assignment and compensation policies.
    • Proven ability to manage a pipeline and accurately forecast revenue.
    • Ability to strategically manage complex situations and formulate executable solutions in short time frames.
    • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
    • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time, as needed
    • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or Communications preferred.
    • Fluency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint and CRM tools required. 
$230,000 - $275,000 a year
Samba TV expects to offer a base salary between $230,000 - $275,000 per year for roles to be performed in New York or California; actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including but not limited to, location, experience, and performance. Base salary is just one component of Samba TV’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives. In addition, Samba provides health insurance, wellness offerings, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO), and other employee benefits.
