Samba TV is seeking a Creative Director to lead our design team and elevate our brand. This individual will be responsible for defining and executing a bold creative vision for Samba TV across all marketing channels. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with a deep understanding of the tech and entertainment industries, capable of driving high-impact creative that aligns with business objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO


    • Drive Creative Leadership & Vision
    • Define and execute a compelling creative vision that aligns with Samba TV’s brand and business strategy.
    • Lead the evolution of Samba TV’s brand identity, visual system, data visualization, and storytelling approach to drive differentiation in the marketplace.
    • Champion brand consistency across all touchpoints, ensuring cohesive messaging and design execution.
    • Push creative boundaries by exploring motion design, interactive media, and innovative digital experiences.
    • Balance high-level creative strategy with hands-on execution when necessary.

    • Brand & Marketing Creative
    • Oversee the creation of B2B marketing assets, including digital campaigns, social media content, video, web design, event branding, and demand generation materials.
    • Drive storytelling across multimedia formats, ensuring that messaging resonates with key audiences, including advertisers, media agencies, and partners.
    • Translate complex data insights into compelling visual stories, leveraging data visualization techniques to make information more engaging, accessible, and actionable for advertisers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with marketing, product, and data teams to leverage insights and analytics to inform creative decisions.
    • Partner with performance marketing to optimize creative for lead generation, engagement, and conversion.
    • Manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and production partners to scale creative efforts.

    • Design Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
    • Be a player/coach as needed, sometimes individually leading strategic projects as the primary designer.
    • Develop efficient workflows, project management processes, and approval structures to enhance productivity.
    • Partner closely with product design, UX/UI, and engineering teams to ensure seamless brand integration across product experiences.
    • Work with sales, product marketing, and executive leadership to translate complex ideas into compelling visual narratives.
    • Present and defend creative work to senior stakeholders, incorporating feedback while maintaining a strong creative vision.

    • Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
    • Implement best practices for design operations, including JIRA, Asana, or similar project management tools to track workflows.
    • Manage creative resources effectively, including budgeting, vendor relationships, and asset production.
    • Stay ahead of design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously innovate.

WHO YOU ARE

    • 10+ years of experience in a Creative Director, Senior Designer, or similar role within a tech, media, or entertainment company.
    • Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing creative teams.
    • An exceptional design portfolio showcasing strong conceptual thinking, strategic problem-solving, and high-quality execution.
    • Expertise in branding, storytelling, and marketing creative across digital, social, video, and experiential platforms.
    • Hands-on proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects), Figma, CapCut and other relevant design tools.
    • Experience managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments with aggressive deadlines.
    • Deep understanding of performance marketing, data-driven design, and A/B testing.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize feedback from multiple stakeholders.
    • Experience with motion design, animation, or interactive media is a plus.
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field.

$180,000 - $200,000 a year
Samba TV expects to offer a base salary between $180,000 - $200,000 USD per year for roles to be performed in New York or California; actual base salary offered will depend on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Base salary is just one component of Samba TV’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus opportunity, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives. In addition, Samba provides health insurance, wellness offerings, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO), and other employee benefits.
