The Agency & Business development team focuses on establishing SambaTV & Semasio as an indispensable partner to the largest agency holding companies and biggest brands by developing strategic, long-term partnerships with our client partners. We also collaborate as a cross-functional partner with members from sales, product, and marketing on all aspects of go-to-market, sales strategy, and account planning.

This strategic sales position is responsible for owning the full sales cycle of Samba TV’s solutions & Semasio Audience Solutions, which help brands and agencies deliver their messages across all screens, in real-time or anytime. Candidates must be highly motivated, possess outstanding communication skills, have demonstrated deep knowledge of online advertising and be willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and growing environment. 

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of responsibility, accomplishments and growth within the Data and Ad Tech ecosystem. They will have deep knowledge of all facets of the Ad Tech, Data and Holding Company landscape.

Your Role:
We’re looking for an ambitious and experienced Business Development Director DACH to join the team. Reporting to the EMEA Commercial Director. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth across Hold Co. & media agencies. With a proven record of revenue generation within data and Programmatic advertising and a deep interest and passion for digital media and innovation, you’ll love our products and know how to sell data solutions to clients and partners. You’re confident while staying humble, work hard, and know how to have fun.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be taking a consultative approach to sales, building relationships with new and existing customers. From go-to-market strategy, initial pitches and hosting client education, to responding to RFIs and nurturing pipeline opportunities to meet revenue goals. You’re eager to learn, naturally analytical and comfortable with leading a complex sales cycle from start to finish. Finally, you like to actively participate in the development of our sales process, helping in sales enablement, and the creation of key tools and assets. You will be based in Hamburg, travel may be required internationally.

Day to Day

    • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with a strong network across DACH market, allowing us to gain a better understanding of their businesses and position Samba and Semasio as an invaluable partner in overcoming their strategic opportunities and challenges with data.
    • Own and nurture relationships with Holdco leaders and teams across the Data, Analytics, Product, Investment, Programmatic and Ad Tech sectors.
    • Drive strategic Holding Company and Strategic Agency-wide initiatives from inception to delivery by prioritizing, analyzing, designing and deploying appropriate solutions with a focus on revenue growth, and increased sales productivity.
    • Develop and execute a GTM strategy for long-term growth with assigned Holding Companies and Strategic Agencies including close collaboration with internal SambaTV Semasio stakeholders and leadership.
    • Develop and implement agency account plans focused on providing education, go-to-market support, driving demand, establishing partnerships, and ensuring advocacy and trust.
    • Accountable for a high quota of in-person meetings and engagement and exceeding data revenue targets of assigned Holding Companies and Strategic Clients. 
    • Host business reviews with external and internal leadership (QBR's, etc)Represent the company at events and serve as a brand ambassador, communicating our core narratives and reinforcing the strong position in the market. 
    • Provide accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting and timely insights about your business and customers where required.
    • Own agency contact mapping, business reviews, education & enablement, and communication on a cross-client, cross-functional basis for Holding Companies and Agencies, both internally and externally.
    • Develop and Implement Enterprise-level Data Licensing agreements at the Holdco Data Platform/Product level (Epsilon, Choreograph, Acxiom, OMNI, Dentsu’s, Havas Converged, etc.)
    • Structure and negotiate deals designed to drive an equitable partnership for Samba and or Semasio and the Holding Companies and Strategic Agencies.
    • Establish Rate Cards/Agency level Deals - pricing level deals to give greater value to agency holdcos & their clients, drive spend levels with Samba and or Semasio. Be ready to wear many hats to build our business and jump in to help your broader teammates when the need arises.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of market competitors, and trends, including evolving technologies, client needs, expectations, and opportunities in the competitive landscape, operational efficiencies, and opportunities.
    • Partner with Samba Sales and Functional leadership to deliver on client needs & establish revenue targets establish downstream opportunities across platform partners where applicable

Preferred Experience

    • You have 6-8+ years of commercial Adtech and data sales experience at a platform, Data business, Adnet, DSP, DMP, and SSP. Ideally with DAAS, and SAAS experience.
    •  Can demonstrate a strong contact network across your region and market You have strong negotiation skills and can consultatively sell, present effectively, and have the resilience to chase down and close business.
    • You can build a pipeline and a proven track record of exceeding goals.
    • You have dexterity in creating reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
    • You have a deep understanding of the digital, ad tech and Data ecosystem.
    • You are a team player, smart, adapt well to change, and have a positive attitude.
    • You can work in a fast-paced, exciting environment and across external and internal teams.
    • Ability to work in complex or ambiguous situations around data partnerships and audience onboarding/targeting
    • Proven track record of building and managing a high-value advertising territory, with emphasis on agency partnerships.
    • Salesforce proficiency is highly preferred
