SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is now accepting resumes for Judaic Studies Teachers for the 2023-2024 school year in the Lower School (Grades 1 - 5).
Responsibilities:
-Cultivate a warm and caring classroom community
-Develop lessons, unit plans, and curricular materials in collaboration with teaching team
-Lead and facilitate learning experiences
-Monitor and assess student progress around learning objectives, and differentiate instruction to address individual needs
-Manage the class effectively -Maintain open communication with students, parents and administrators
Qualifications:
-Strong ability to build connections with children and to develop an atmosphere of mutual respect
-Problem-solving and collaborative skills
-Understanding of principles of social, emotional and cognitive development
-Creative, flexible, and open-minded approach to teaching
-Prior teaching experience preferred
Salary range: $60,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience.
