Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Federal business development and maritime autonomy with a proven track record of success selling hardware and/or software to Navy customers. You will be responsible for developing and cultivating relationships with our Navy and Marine Corps clients, ensuring customer interest is effectively met with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities

    • Build measurable customer satisfaction and enduring business relationships
    • Serve as Saronic’s full-time presence in Washington, DC; supporting in-person engagements with customers, industry, and government entities, and facilitating larger participation when appropriate
    • Understand and anticipate the client’s requirements, challenges, and goals to effectively align our products and services
    • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in maritime autonomy
    • Collaborate with our engineering and product development teams to tailor our USVs and related solutions to meet specific Navy requirements
    • Prepare and present product demonstrations, proposals, and quotations to clients
    • Negotiate contracts and close deals, ensuring alignment with company policies and client expectations
    • Provide post-sales support, including coordinating with the technical support team to resolve any product or service issues
    • Attend customer relevant events to include exercises, demonstrations, conferences, and presentations to network and promote our products
    • Pursue and attain challenging but achievable sales and performance goals
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our product offerings, capabilities, and competitive advantages

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management or business development, preferably within the maritime or defense industry
    • Strong understanding of naval operations and the maritime autonomy industry
    • Proven track record of successful sales account management in a relevant field
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
    • Willingness to travel as required to meet business objectives
    • Ability to attain and retain a SECRET security clearance required. TOP SECRET preferred
