Job Overview
We are seeking a Security Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our autonomous surface vessels. You will work closely with our engineering, development, and operations teams to implement robust security measures, identify vulnerabilities, and develop solutions to protect our systems from cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement security architectures for our autonomous surface vessels, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards and best practices
- Conduct thorough threat analysis and risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies
- Develop and enforce security protocols and policies for network, software, and hardware components
- Lead incident response efforts, including detection, investigation, and mitigation of security incidents
- Perform regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on our systems and applications
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the development lifecycle and operational processes
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including NIST, FIPS, and DoD directives
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports
- Provide security training and awareness programs for employees to promote a security-conscious culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus
- Experience in cybersecurity, preferably within the defense or autonomous systems sectors
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or similar is a plus
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies
- Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and encryption
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java)
- Familiarity with secure software development practices and methodologies
- Knowledge of network security, cloud security, and secure communication protocols
- Ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
