Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionising autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms -for government and non-government customers. This role is likely to be based in the South West of the UK, but exact location will be advised.

Role Overview
As a Business Operations Specialist, you’ll be a key player in leading the project management of our expansion into the UK, supporting program execution, and driving cross-functional alignment across engineering, finance, compliance, and customer success teams. This is a critical role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and can bridge tactical execution with strategic insight.

Responsibilities

    • Your role will have two phases – a build phase, and a growth phase. The build phase will be largely complex project management as we expand in the UK. You’ll need to be detail orientated, mission focused and thrive in unstructured environments working with various teams at the company. You’ll also be expected to spend some time in the US working with various leadership groups. The growth phase will involve scaling our existing operational systems from HQ and implementing UK-specific requirements that will enable us to grow.
    • Ongoing requirements could include:
    • Support day-to-day business operations, including project management, procurement coordination, and reporting.
    • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments to enable data-driven decision-making.
    • Assist with government contract execution, compliance tracking, and deliverable submissions.
    • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align internal processes with project timelines and milestones.
    • Lead logistics for customer and field operations, including vessel deployment support and supply chain coordination.
    • Coordinate company documentation, SOPs, and internal process improvements to increase efficiency.
    • Provide support for business development, proposal submissions, and financial planning tasks.
    • Provide support to customer visits to our facilities and our engagement at various trade shows and other events.
    • Ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements, including Cyber Essentials, trade controls, and other related policies.
    • Willingness to travel as needed to meet business objectives, including throughout the European region and to our headquarters in Austin, Texas.

Qualifications

    • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in business operations, project coordination, or a similar role—preferably in a startup, defence, or tech environment.
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Currently holding or has the ability to hold an UK security clearance.
    • Preferred:
    • Experience working in or with defence startups or small businesses
    • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and project management tools (e.g., NetSuite, HubSpot, Asana, Jira).
    • Background in autonomous systems, robotics, or maritime operations.
