At Procreate we're dedicated to making exceptional creative tools by combining beautiful user experiences with high performance engineering. Used by millions around the globe, Procreate is committed to placing more power in the hands of creatives.
We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our team here in Hobart. You’ll collaborate to deliver incredibly powerful tools through user friendly and intuitive user interfaces. Every aspect of our product design is meticulously thought through and iterated. Your approach to design will reflect this pursuit of excellence and relentless attention to detail.
This role sits within the Product team, and you’ll report directly to the CPO, Claire d’Este. You’ll work closely with the CEO, Co-Founder, and Chief Product Designer, James Cuda. You’ll also work with other designers in both the product and marketing departments as well as our software engineers.
You’ll bring a skill set which combines technical fluency in a range of software tools, a creative flair, an ability to ideate, and a drive to design industry-leading products. You’ll work directly on Procreate as it continues to evolve and our next generation products.
What you'll do.
Create beautiful and intuitive user experience. In your role, you’ll take big-picture ideas from concept to design. Your focus on user experience will come across in your conversations, the work you produce and your long-term vision for the product.
Collaborate and iterate. Work with designers, engineers and creatives to produce work of the highest quality. Your ability to communicate and troubleshoot will inspire those around you. The example you set will encourage constant iteration and improvement in search of truly delightful user experience. Your contribution will reduce the workload on our existing designers and set the scene for an emerging design team.
Build out our design system, workflow and component library. You’re logical and pragmatic in your approach to workflow. You’ll create and document processes and procedure. You’ll also design a range of digital components that will improve design efficiency and allow designers to work within a consistent framework.
Create consistency in design principles and aesthetic. Part of this role will be to maintain and build upon our existing design principles and language. You’ll bring a fresh perspective and individuality to our design team while being able to reference our well-established and much-loved reputation for outstanding user experience.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about their craft. If you don’t see yourself in everything on this list don’t worry, even if you match just a few we’d still love to hear from you.
A background and significant experience in design. We appreciate a multi-disciplinary approach to design and value technical proficiency coupled with an ability to be creative, curious and playful. Your work will demonstrate how you have included elements of graphic design, motion design, and animation into the UX/UI of a range of digital products.
Creative flair and an inquisitive approach to design. Our aim is to engage, delight and spark joy in our users. Your work will sit squarely at the apex of functionality and aesthetics. You’ll be able to harness your technical proficiency, passion for design and a creative X-factor to execute a wide range of design deliverables.
A focus on detail and a desire to grow. It is important to us that you have a laser-like eye for detail and a hunger to learn. You’ll have the ability to collaborate with a diverse group of designers and engineers to produce pixel perfect work. Your ability to focus on the iteration and reiteration of high-fidelity prototypes alongside your colleagues will be crucial to your success in this role
