A growing operational analytics team is looking for a capable data engineer that can work in a fast-paced and agile environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with establishing data pipelines, analyzing data, working with the business to mitigate or remediate data quality issues, developing data models, and providing general data warehouse support. The right fit for this role will be a self-starter and a great communicator, and they must have a passion for empowering business users to harness the available data to derive meaningful insights to make sound business decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

    • Participate in an agile team focused on quality and quick time-to-value delivery, and consistently show initiative to problem solve while following best practices
    • Work with application administrators and business stakeholders to identify data that needs to be synced from the target application
    • Develop, implement, and monitor stored procedures
    • Establish and maintain secure, cost-efficient, and technically-efficient EL and ETL data pipelines, following best practices
    • Implement data models that follow best practices and support data warehouse extensibility
    • Review incoming data for completeness and accuracy and implement ongoing automated data completeness/accuracy checks
    • Identify data quality issues and work with stakeholders to mitigate or remediate quality issues
    • Where data gaps/inconsistencies cannot be corrected at the source, define ETL and ELT processes and models to cleanse data and report on ongoing quality issues, following best practices
    • Help automate manual processes wherever profitable to do so
    • Collaborate with other members of the analytics team to validate data. Support the quality testing of others on the team.
    • Administer and optimize a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable data warehouse
    • Effectively communicate the design, and intended use, of data models to BI developers.
    • Communicate details about data models to stakeholders in non-technical terms
    • Identify inconsistencies or trends in data that may impact business objectives and effectively communicate these to stakeholders
    • Participate in requirement gathering sessions, participate in design workshops, and maintain meaningful design documentation
    • Contribute to project planning, and adhere closely to planned delivery dates
    • Look beyond immediate requirements and design data models that are reusable and extensible
    • Ensure that all data is properly secured both while in-flight and at-rest.
    • Adhere to, and help enhance, quality control guidelines and procedures
    • Create and maintain meaningful and detailed documentation for consumers ranging from very technical to non-technical
    • Deploy monitoring processes to ensure data integrity remains high and that data flows are working properly
    • Show a willingness and desire to grow beyond existing skills

WHAT YOIU BRING

    • 5-6 years’ experience developing and maintaining data warehouse solutions
    • 2-3 years’ experience on BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure and/or Redshift Spectrum
    • 2-3 years’ experience using economic thinking to minimize compute costs and maximize data retrieval efficiency
    • 3-4 years’ experience working with BI technologies such as Tableau and PowerBI
    • 3-4 years’ experience working in cloud infrastructure such as AWS & Azure
    • 3-4 years’ experience working with data integration tools such as Fivetran, Talend, and Alteryx
    • 3-4 years’ experience developing and documenting and implementing ETL and ELT processes
    • 3-4 years’ experience in developing and working with APIs such as SOAP and REST, including modern authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect
    • 3-4 years’ experience in developing/implementing Python scripts for purposes of integrating and processing data
    • 2-3 years’ experience working in an agile team setting, focused on fast and high-quality delivery
    • Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
    • Experience contributing as part of the data governance framework
    • Familiarity with ML and AI concepts and implementing ML projects
    • Experience reading and writing business process documentation, understanding how applications/data tie into those process, and helping to drive data and process improvement
    • Experience working with cloud applications such as Salesforce, FreshService, & Jira
    • Experience with various business domains such as sales, renewals, and customer relationship management
    • Available to work a flexible schedule to work with stakeholders in various timezones
    • (Preferred) Experience deploying scripts on Linux and Windows servers
    • (Preferred) Experience with regulations such as HIPAA, FedRAMP, and GDPR, and their requirements related to data
    • (Preferred) Experience with Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) platforms
