As a VFX Producer, you manage client relationships and oversee financials, while developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resources through proactive problem-solving and effective leadership. You
will manage the day-to-day operations of the show, facilitating clear and professional communication with the client and within the show team. Partnering with a VFX Supervisor, you are responsible for collaboratively meeting the client’s creative vision while delivering the project on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary client contact, building and maintaining positive relationships through open and professional communication
    • Review bidding material and create bids with well defined assumptions for the work
    • Manage changes to the project scope, collaborating with clients to achieve creative goals, while presenting solutions with clear financial or schedule implications
    • Address client feedback promptly and deliver weekly status reports
    • Partner with production finance to develop budgets, meet financial goals, and ensure accurate financial reporting
    • Partner with the VFX Supervisor on client strategy and delivery goals
    • Collaborate with resource managers to allocate resources and fulfill project demands
    • Facilitate clear communication regarding budgets, schedules, and changes
    • Strategize production planning, render estimates, and delivery schedules
    • Manage day-to-day show operations, supporting teams to succeed
    • Lead and mentor the production team, providing performance reviews and feedback
    • Quality control delivered work to ensure creative and technical requirements are met
    • Report project progress to VFX Operations and executive leadership teams
    • Manage outsource vendors and ensure the seamless integration of their work
    • Oversee time card, leave request, and overtime approvals
    • Participate in on-set needs as needed
    • Maintain a calm and positive attitude toward the project and the crew
    • Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment
    • Build and maintain high team morale
    • Proactively anticipate risks and obstacles
    • Develop strategies to mitigate issues and maintain project momentum
    • Other duties and responsibilities consistent with the position may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

    • Three (3) years of experience as a VFX Producer on large scale feature film or episodic television projects
    • Experience on a large (500+ shots) multi-vendor production
    • Deep understanding of budgets, resources, and schedules
    • Experience in managing project budgets, including tracking bids vs. actuals and generating cost reports
    • Advanced skills in Excel, Shotgrid, and other database systems and production tools
    • Ability to lead and motivate large teams under tight deadlines in a positive manner
    • Must be able to work within a fast paced, high change environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Proactive and agile problem solver with an analytical mindset
    • Willingness to collaborate with others and give/receive feedback
    • Respectful and positive attitude
    • Passion for film and VFX
    • VFX related education is an asset
    • Experience on high complexity VFX work (creature or FX heavy work preferred)
    • Technical understanding of visual effects workflows and pipeline
    • On-set experience for VFX-related shoots
    • Experience in outsourcing and managing external partners
    • Capable of building and managing professional relationships with executive level clients
$105,000 - $195,000 a year
This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.
