About Scholars of Finance
Scholars of Finance is a rapidly growing organization on a mission to transform the financial system to solve the world’s largest problems. We are sending thousands of purpose-driven, principled future leaders into the finance industry to influence the $100T+ that finance manages and allocates. College is the entry point into finance, so we provide leadership development and mentorship to undergrads and help them join top firms, funds, and a life-long support community that empowers them to spend their careers serving the greater good with capital at scale.

Since 2019 we’ve raised more than $9.5M and impacted 7,000+ students across 60+ universities, and we’re just getting started. We’re a close, motivated team with a big vision of a future where all finance leaders steward the world’s capital with integrity, humility, compassion, and excellence. We are fortunate to be backed by world-class Founding Partners like Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, and Blackstone, and are being advised by titans in the industry like Teri List, Board Director at Visa, Microsoft, and Lululemon, and Scott Kupor, Managing Partner at Andreessen Horowitz.

Core Skills

    • Teambuilder and influencer to students and executives; must have the ability to develop strong relationships, escalate when necessary, and get results
    • Highly analytical and organized in resource planning, project management, and task execution
    • Creative problem-solver to help determine the source of a conflict, ineffective process, or problem and find an effective way to solve it
    • Excellent communicator and active listener that is empathetic and assertive to be able to ask the right questions and listen carefully to what our members need
    • Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; you build strong followership among your teammates and members. When people see your name in their inbox, it brings a smile to their face.

Benefits and Perks

    • Gain Unparalleled Experience. Scholars of Finance started with one leadership symposium and now we’re on a mission to change the future of the finance sector. Our interns work with industry leaders and see how a high-performing, high-growth company operates.
    • Build a Movement. Scholars of Finance has early traction, like our partnership with BlackRock or our programs that attract thousands of students and finance leaders every year. You will help build a national organization to the next level.
    • Work On What Matters. Scholars of Finance wants you to take the initiative to do what you are passionate about. If you have a big idea, we want you to run with it, and we’ll help you bring it to life.

Requirements and Expectations

    • You are a current member or candidate of Scholars of Finance in good standing with a local chapter
    • You're able to commit 20-40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks. 2-4 of these hours (daily) must be between 9 am and 6 pm EST M-F so that it’s possible to sync with team members.
    • Our entire team works remotely, so whether you’re at home, on campus, or in Europe for the month, you can work wherever you want.

Mentality for Success

    • You love our mission and are passionate about helping us transform the lives of as many students as possible
    • You’re coachable and have a growth mindset; you seek and thrive on constant feedback, and you proactively drive your own growth and learning  to expand your skill set
    • You have a passion for finance as a force for good and a commitment to developing ethical & morally sound leaders
    • Unwavering commitment to quality marketing, branding, and data-driven processes
    • A desire and willingness to contribute beyond your job description. You’re ready to do whatever it takes to advance the mission.
    • Humility to be both a leader and a “do-er.” After building a strategy, you’ll roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get it done.
    • Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it. Is something broken? Fix it.
