Job Summary
The Development & Partnerships Manager will report to the Chief Growth Officer and project manage SOF’s fundraising and outreach efforts, including developing, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a growing portfolio of individual funders and corporate partners. 

You will drive our efforts to execute outreach and communication strategies with SOF stakeholders and prospects. The Development & Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Chief Growth Officer and the broader SOF team to help ensure that all facets of the organization are funded, growing, and communicated effectively to potential and existing supporters. 
 
This is an opportunity for a motivated and high-energy individual who enjoys working with a close-knit team, but who can also take the reins on initiatives. You will work closely with our team, donors, and partners to help us rapidly scale from $1.5M in annual funding to $10M+. There is enormous potential to have a meaningful and far-reaching impact in this role by funding our impact on thousands of future leaders who will manage and allocate billions of dollars.

What You'll Do

    • Partner with the CEO and Chief Growth Officer to project manage annual development and partnership plan throughout the year. The plan will encompass marketing, revenue expectations, and new donor outreach to reach our annual fundraising goals.
    • Ensure revenue goals are achieved by developing, implementing and assessing year-round strategic fundraising plans for individuals and corporate partners, including campaign revenue drivers: proactive team engagement, clear timelines, data-revenue tracking and assessment. 
    • Make timely adjustments to fundraising strategies as needed based on analysis of results.
    • Prioritize relationship development. Deliver excellent experience to all donors, participants, and corporate partners by understanding their interests, responding promptly to requests and providing consistent year-round communication.
    • Manage and execute all campaign logistics.
    • Maintain and accurate and complete CRM, to track all donor and prospect pipelines, execute fundraising campaigns, and assign related tasks. 
    • Promote and grow SOF’s mission via marketing programs, including, SOF website, podcast, social media content, and public relations.

    • Partner with the Board of Directors, CEO, COO, CPO, CGO and broader team to grow our funding from $1.5M/yr to $10M+/yr so we can deepen our impact, grow our team, and scale our mission to thousands of universities across the globe
    • Inspire dozens of top private equity firms, VC funds, investment banks, asset managers, and commercial banks to become partners, sponsors, and hire our future leaders; making SOF one of the most sought after organizations in the world for hiring top early talent

What You'll Need - Leadership and Management

    • Experience analyzing and running highly effective sales and partnership engines--staying informed of progress and driving growth objectives. You must have the ability to develop strong relationships, escalate when necessary, and get results.
    • The ability to map and navigate complex organizations, timelines, budgets, and decision-makers to execute strategies and tactics to secure new Corporate Partners
    • Adept at accomplishing things through other people. You can run multiple work streams to which interns, contractors, and senior executives contribute. 
    • Comfort with ensuring ongoing revenue and brand excellence, rigorous process evaluation, and consistent quality of fundraising execution across many channels
    • Sophisticated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; you build strong followership among your teammates; you can earn respect and build relationships with donors, board members, or sponsors

What You'll Need - Foundational Qualifications

    • Minimum 3-5 years of fundraising and/or sales experience with a track record of growth and success
    • Experience managing CRM systems and overseeing a sales/fundraising pipeline and funnel
    • Strong critical thinking skills. You can identify opportunities, anticipate challenges and gaps, and contingency plan accordingly.
    • Ability to effectively research and recommend strategies, tactics, timelines, and resources needed to grow fundraising streams
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously and successfully in a deadline-driven environment
    • Energetic and personable; take initiative and think creatively
    • Fluency with G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), CRM Software (Copper experience a plus)
    • Ability to travel up to 10% of your time
    • BA/BS or equivalent with a strong academic record

High-Value Nice-to-Haves

    • Advanced degree, ideally an MBA or Master’s Degree
    • Experience leading sales, business development, or partnership teams
