Scismic is supporting the growth of a leading global contract research and manufacturing organization for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
We're looking for Alliance Manager – Chemistry Manufacturing Controls to manage and grow existing alliances with R&D and commercial customers, develop new contracts, and facilitate the renewal of existing ones.
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of personal sales targets
- Maintain active awareness of progress against personal sales targets and develop a sales plan that enables quarterly targets to be delivered
- Deliver sales objectives through regular customer engagement and disciplined use of Salesforce to track progress
- Understand what the customer wants
- Interact with customers to understand their requirements and develop bespoke tailor made solutions
- Collaborate with colleagues across R&D, Project management and Pre-sales to develop competitive proposals for CMC services
- Develop customer relationships
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing customers to grow long term business partnerships
- Understand the reporting relationships within customer organisations to identify key collaborators and decision makers
- Partner internally with colleagues across the business to facilitate the delivery of customer requirements (eg on site visits, audits, legal documents, interactions at CPHI, sustainability expectations etc)
- Understand how Sai can help the customer
- Maintain an up to date awareness of company capabilities and proactively communicate this with customers with a view to identifying sales growth opportunities
- Collaborate with business intelligence colleagues in Sai to identify opportunities within customer portfolios that can lead to further growth with existing customers
- Ensure customer delivery expectations are met and customers have a positive experience when working with Sai
- Proactively work with R&D and Project management colleagues to ensure that OTIF targets are being met on Projects
- Work closely with the Project management group to engage key external stakeholders to manage issues where OTIF targets are impacted or scope changes are required
- Escalate any delivery challenges (with potential solution options) to the senior leadership team
- Work with customers and internal key stakeholders to drive completion of key documents that enable Project delivery (eg statement of work documents, supply agreements, FTE arrangements etc)
- Act as a single point of contact to support customers with any post Project delivery requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Significant experience of working as a project manager or business development support role within biotech, big pharma &/or CMOs from a sales, marketing, and/or outsourcing perspective.
- Chemistry/Chemical Engineering Degree desired but not essential; an advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) is helpful but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of small molecule development lifecycle from IND to commercialization.

- Ability to represent the company and its business interests with identified Pharma & Biotech stakeholders and decision makers, key opinion leaders.
- Demonstrates understanding of market-specific environments including trends, regulatory frameworks and legal boundaries, competitive landscapes, influential industry societies, etc.
- Strong analytical ability, CDMO / CMC knowledge.

- Comfortable addressing customer challenges and finding solutions.
- Proactive to find solutions to issues, follows up on outstanding actions and drives activities to completion by engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation
