Position Title:Manager of Engineering
Position Summary
The Manager of Engineering provides hands-on leadership and coordination for a team of engineers, supporting the execution of engineering projects and contributing to the advancement of the company’s technology roadmap. This role focuses on project delivery, team development, and cross-functional collaboration in alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Support the development and communication of engineering goals, team objectives, and KPIs.
Promote the use of modern engineering practices and tools to enhance productivity and quality.
Execution & Project Management
Manage day-to-day execution of engineering initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality expectations.
Track and report on key metrics related to project performance, quality, and efficiency.
Talent Development & Culture
Coach and mentor engineering team members, fostering skill development and career growth.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safety-conscious team culture.
Resource Planning
Coordinate personnel and equipment resources to meet current project demands and support long-term initiatives.
Assist in budget tracking and allocation for engineering activities.
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate closely with Product, Quality, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure effective hand-offs and alignment across departments.
Represent the engineering team in cross-departmental meetings and project reviews.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex engineering projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Organized, results-driven, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in scaling team operations in a growth-stage company or evolving environment.
Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
Proficiency with engineering collaboration and task tracking tools.
Ability to support continuous improvement and process development efforts.
Authorities
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering team members.
Provide input on budget planning and resource allocation.
Ensure engineering activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
