Performance K9 Training, Inc. is a leading dog training boutique facility in San Diego North County. It was founded by award-winning dog trainer, David Greene, who represented the USA on four world teams, placed third in the World Championships, and third in the World Cup with his dogs.
This is a unique opportunity for anyone in the dog world to learn top-shelf training philosophy and methodology from the best. We are actively recruiting for an experienced and certified, dog trainer who wants to join a fast-growing company and be part of our awesome team. This is a NEW full-time position. Starting pay is $25-26 an hour and negotiable depending on experience. Commission on selling dog training programs is also applicable.
Qualified candidates must have:
- A passion for dogs and people
- Ability to evaluate a dog’s personality and temperament
- Balanced dog training methodology using various techniques for basic commands
- Experience in working with dogs experiencing behavioral issues such as human and dog reactivity, anxiety, and more
- Desire to work with dogs and their pet parents
- Ability to teach parents the training methods needed to maintain the dog training, with at least 3+ years of current and/or past experience training
- General understanding of canine behaviors and the ability and desire to handle dogs with various personalities
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently by yourself and with the team
- Must be able to move/stand/bend for the majority of your shift
If hired, you will be responsible for:
- Working with the training director on a tailored program for dogs in training
- Be responsible for training the dogs assigned
- Providing updates via video or photography to clients regarding progress updates
- Teaching pet parents techniques in private lessons and troubleshooting
- Assisting with arrivals/departures
$25 - $26 an hour
Would consider higher based on experience. If a training consultation signs up for the program, there would be a bonus compensation of $25 per program.
