Join our compliance team as a Benefits Compliance Consultant to provide analytical and research compliance support to the client service department in the following areas related to Employee Benefits compliance: ERISA (health & welfare plans), the Affordable Care Act, IRC rules that impact employer-sponsored plans (ex. 125, 105, 106, 129), HIPAA, COBRA, account-based plans (HRAs, HSA, health FSAs), Medicare Part D, etc.

What You Get To Do

    • COMPLIANCE                                                                                                                 
    • Provide guidance and support to our Employee Benefits Client Service Department
    • Research and answer compliance questions from internal staff using various resources including state and federal websites, EBIA, etc. (analytical and research skills a must)
    • Working to continuously understand the needs of our various benefits teams as it relates to benefits regulations and compliance
    • Help develop intellectual capital on compliance related topics
    • Create and deliver compliance training to internal teams
    • Create and author documents to educate clients on compliance related topics such as ACA, HIPAA, etc.
    • Complete special projects as needed
    • FILE AND DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT
    • Close and meticulous attention to detail is required due to a high volume of document management needs
    • Monitor all resource material to reflect current laws and responsible for archiving documents
    • Keeping files organized, easy to use/locate
    • Auditing our compliance checklist for accuracy and functionality
    • LEGISLATIVE UPDATES                                                                                       
    • Manage monthly client newsletter deadline and drafting legal blogs and articles
    • Daily monitoring/review of new benefits news and laws in a thorough manner to understand client’s obligations (and drafting communications relaying these obligations)
    • Create and author legislative alerts for distribution to internal staff and clients        

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree (post-graduate degree or Juris Doctor a plus)
    • 3+ years of experience working in employee benefits &/or a compliance-related field
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience in taking complex language/regulations and explaining in layman’s terms
    • High level of comprehension needed to interpret State and Federal Laws
    • Strong analytical and research skills
    • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint (SmartSheet a plus)
    • Well-developed time management skills
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be detail-oriented
    • Prior training experience is a plus
