Revenue Accountant

San Mateo, CA
The Revenue Accountant is responsible for all revenue streams including Benefits, 401(K), and Risk Management.  Plays a key role in Carrier Partnership management, processing all revenue transactions into NetSuite, and revenue reporting and analytics.

What You Get To Do

    • Record daily deposits and revenue into the NetSuite system
    • Process all Broker of Record (BORs)
    • Reconcile Carrier 1099s
    • Identify discrepancies and resolve revenue issues
    • Manage Benefits, 401(K), and Risk Management invoicing
    • Own the revenue accounting close process
    • Assist with budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances with analysis
    • Evaluate current revenue recognition systems and processes, making and implementing value added changes that result in a shorter close cycle with improved accuracy and faster time to insights
    • Ensure best practices and standardization as it relates to revenue across all lines of business
    • Maintain and recommend the Company’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures, and internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing)
    • Work independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring, and ongoing projects. Act as project manager for special projects, at the request of team members
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Identify and lead revenue accounting related system projects 


    • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting & Finance
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
    • Solid fundamentals in core accounting – accounts receivable, close process, reconciliations, reporting
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong computer skills, including high proficiency with Excel
    • Hands-on, team player who possesses a can-do attitude
    • Attention to detail and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
    • Demonstrated ability to work and lead project teams through project management
    • Insurance industry and Property & Casualty experience is highly desirable
    • Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, and Concur is highly desirable
