The role of Facilities Supervisor is critical to orchestrating routine maintenance, scheduling upgrades, and managing construction projects with limited disruption to operations or production. This is a hands-on position, that involves leading a diverse and collaborative team of facilities technicians, while also working along side them. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to efficiently manage projects is a key component of the position.    

Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Train new Facilities Technician staff
    • Oversee the daily workflow of the department
    • Improve team performance through coaching, feedback, and mentoring
    • Entrust and motivate direct reports by providing direction and facilitate skill building
    • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
    • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
    • Monitor to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain day-to-day operations of all Serán facilities
    • Manage maintenance orders by delegating or completing
    • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
    • Perform routine maintenance on facilities and make repairs as needed
    • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
    • Ensure proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
    • Create reports on maintenance, repairs, and safety
    • Oversee and supervisor multiple areas and shifts within the facility
    • Respond to facility emergencies 24 hours 7 days a week schedule
    • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors
    • Continuously update and improve efficiency and response time to minimize production downtime
    • Participate in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor budget expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment
    • Perform Project Management oversight, directly manage contractors and consultants, budget development and tracking, quality assurance oversight and project expense control
    • Manage projects (capital and expense), facility requests, and special events

    • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques

    • Understand budgets, bid proposals, contract evaluation, basic accounting principles

    • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, and technical manuals
    • Ability to solve practical problems, clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make sound professional judgments and recommendations

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of five years of relevant facilities experience
    • Minimum of two years of relevant supervisor experience
    • Knowledge of mechanical skills, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems preferred
    • GMP experience preferred

Physical Requirements

    • Physically able to work throughout facilities
    • Prolonged periods of time standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders  
    • Required to work in settings with extreme cold or heat at various times of year
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
    • Ability to drive a company vehicle
