The role of Facilities Supervisor is critical to orchestrating routine maintenance, scheduling upgrades, and managing construction projects with limited disruption to operations or production. This is a hands-on position, that involves leading a diverse and collaborative team of facilities technicians, while also working along side them. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to efficiently manage projects is a key component of the position.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Train new Facilities Technician staff
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department
- Improve team performance through coaching, feedback, and mentoring
- Entrust and motivate direct reports by providing direction and facilitate skill building
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Monitor to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day operations of all Serán facilities
- Manage maintenance orders by delegating or completing
- Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
- Perform routine maintenance on facilities and make repairs as needed
- Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
- Ensure proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
- Create reports on maintenance, repairs, and safety
- Oversee and supervisor multiple areas and shifts within the facility
- Respond to facility emergencies 24 hours 7 days a week schedule
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors
- Continuously update and improve efficiency and response time to minimize production downtime
- Participate in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor budget expenditures; prepare cost estimates; submit justifications for equipment
- Perform Project Management oversight, directly manage contractors and consultants, budget development and tracking, quality assurance oversight and project expense control
- Manage projects (capital and expense), facility requests, and special events

- Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors, and team members

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Understand budgets, bid proposals, contract evaluation, basic accounting principles
- Demonstrated ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, and technical manuals
- Ability to solve practical problems, clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to make sound professional judgments and recommendations
- Ability to supervise and motivate team members
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of relevant facilities experience
- Minimum of two years of relevant supervisor experience
- Knowledge of mechanical skills, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems preferred
- GMP experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Physically able to work throughout facilities
- Prolonged periods of time standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders
- Required to work in settings with extreme cold or heat at various times of year
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to drive a company vehicle
