The Operations Department at Serán BioScience is seeking a Materials Specialist I to join the Supply Chain team. The role of this group is critical to ensuring client satisfaction for clinical testing of novel pharmaceutical therapies. The materials specialist is responsible for fulfilling the logistics behind receiving, processing, and storing inventory according to purchase orders and Serán Bioscience SOP’s. They also ensure that shipping schedules are met with attention to detail to ensure timely delivery and loss prevention. Successful candidates will showcase attention to detail, record keeping, and scheduling while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepares shipments including critical documentation 
    • Coordinates shipments with couriers  
    • Acts as liaison between the project manager and the courier 
    • Ships materials including domestic and international  
    • Stages and handles shipping materials ensuring appropriate resources and supplies are on-site for shipments 
    • Updates appropriate parties daily on all in-process shipments 
    • Receives inbound materials 
    • Unpackages and inspects deliveries received against receiving documents such as packing slips and purchase orders ensuring compliance with current good manufacturing practices  
    • Enters receiving information in appropriate storage locations and notifies appropriate parties 
    • Unloads materials from delivery trucks 
    • Supports other materials management personnel assisting with material transfers 
    • Maintains warehouse organization and cleanliness 
    • Maintains clear records on all inventory and stock  
    • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent  
    • Able to operate a forklift (certification and training provided)
    • GMP experience preferred but not required  

Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs 
    • Prolonged periods of standing 

Other Requirements

    • Must have and maintain valid Oregon Driver’s license (ODL), or obtain ODL within 30 days  
    • Must carry and maintain personal vehicle insurance
