The Opportunity
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? The Southeast Wellness Services is seeking dependable and courteous Medical Drivers to provide safe, timely transportation for clients accessing essential medical appointments, lodging, and other support services. We are looking for both permanent and part-time drivers so please indicate if you have a preference.
As a Medical Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring client care and safety while representing Southeast Wellness Services’ commitment to excellence and community well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments, airports, and accommodations.
- Make deliveries on behalf of the pharmacy daily or on an as-needed basis
- Maintain open communication with the Service Coordinators, Operations Manager and team members.
- Ensure all vehicles are inspected, cleaned, and sanitized before and after each shift.
- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and handling of baggage, ensuring proper use of safety equipment.
- Uphold a courteous, professional demeanor while adhering to all traffic laws and Southeast Wellness Centre policies.
- Maintain detailed records and logs for review and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Grade XII or equivalent
- Full class 5F driver’s license with clean drivers abstract; Class 4 Driver’s license (preferred, but not required)
- 3 years’ experience driving.
- Standard First Aid and CPR – Level BLS (preferred)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification (preferred)
- Clear Criminal Record Check w/ Vulnerable Persons Sector Search
- Clear Adult and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Previous experience providing transportation services.
- Excellent Customer Services Skills with a high level of professionalism.
- Ability to retain information, which is of a confidential nature.
- Ability to adapt readily to stressful and fast-paced situations.
- Great verbal communication skills with strict attention to detail.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with clients.
- Ability to prioritize under pressure, with excellent time management skills.
- Possess excellent organizational skills, work independently, take initiative, and have a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as a team - work well with others and is confident in all aspects.
- Capable and flexible to work shift hours: days, evenings, weekends may be required.
- Ability to communicate/speak in a First Nations language(s) (i.e., Ojibway/Cree/Oji-Cree, etc.)and/or previous exposure to First Nations communities and cultures would be a definite asset.

Working Conditions
- Flexible shifts (8–40 hours per week) including evenings and weekends as required.
- Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varying weather conditions.
