The Brokenhead Ojibway Nation is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Special Events/Project Coordinator. The Special Events/Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating events/programming from start to completion. The goal will be to organize successful events/programming and projects that ensure Jordan’s Principle mandate, vision, mission, and values are met. All events/programming and projects will be planned to meet the target audience and within budget.
Requirements
- Certificate in Management and/or Project Management.
- Proven experience as an Events Coordinator.
- A proven track record of organizing successful events.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent vendor management skills.
- Outstanding relationship-building, communication skills and negotiation ability.
- Well-organized, proven problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Able to handle stress and remain calm.
- Ability to establish professional working relationships with staff, business, government, and non-profit organizations.
- Strict adherence to rules of confidentiality and other policies that define the Code of Conduct.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours on short notice.
- Must obtain an up-to-date Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check if over the age of 18 years.
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing.
- Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and reliable vehicle
