Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our team in Little Grand Rapids First Nation. This position works with clients in their home by assisting them and proving supportive care, as directed.
The HCA performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists clients to maintain adequate rest and activity.
- Assists with constant care and/or close observation of clients as assigned.
- Maintains established client oxygen therapy.
- Provides care that respects the client’s right to dignity, privacy and individuality, including the right to make choices.
- Assists with obtaining, cleaning and maintaining equipment as directed.
- Ensures all efforts are focused on quality client care.
- Participates in quality improvement activities as requested.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Grade XII or equivalent.
- Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized educational institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge of client focused care, in a home setting, in accordance with our Mission Statement and meets
- Ability to meet physical requirements to carry out job duties – lifting, bending, reaching above the head, etc.
- Ability to perform tasks and duties independently, as well as part of a team, and seek assistance as necessary.
