The Offset Operator will operate as a 6 color press person using Heidelberg and KBD sheet fed offset printing presses. The Offset Operator is responsible for setting up the machine, running the press, clean up, and performing routine preventive maintenance. When assigned to a two-man press the Offset Operator will direct and monitor the performance of the feeder person.
Offset Operator Responsibilities -
- Must possess thorough working knowledge of press systems, controls and terminology to perform job to established level of production and quality.
- Responsible to check incoming material for variance to specifications; ink and stock.
- Responsible for make-ready of the press, following manufacturing procedures.
- Verifying quality of product production against specifications from the customer proofs and statistical printouts.
- Documentation of proofs and approval of first print will be saved.
- Responsible for the stop of production to correct quality concerns.
- Communicating with management of products and/or processes that do not conform to requirements.
- Responsible for the press operation and clean up according to standards established in the manufacturing procedures.
- Perform press sheet checks for drop in acceptable level of quality, diagnosis of problems, troubleshoot typical causes and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform weekly, monthly and semi-annual preventive equipment maintenance on the press as scheduled by pressroom management.
- Responsible for completing all documentation for each job.
- All co-workers responsible for ensuring quality have authority to stop production to correct quality concerns. Management will be informed of products and/or processes that do not conform to requirements.

- Knowledge of good departmental and company safety/housekeeping/PPE practices
- Ability to enter information into Titan ERP system
- High School Diploma or equivalent
