We are seeking a Manager of Sales Engineers (SE’s) with deep technical expertise and knowledge of cloud solutions to help our Sales and Technology teams leverage cloud in a managed service, hybrid, or even on a consultative non-deployed manner. You’ll help qualify opportunities, solve technical challenges during sales engagements, gather specifications and requirements, provide technical presentations, and conduct product tours and demonstrations. The Manger of SE’s will participate in executive technology reviews to assess new technologies being introduced to SCTG

Responsibilities:

    • Identifies, assesses, and solves complex business problems related to technologies; where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, including converting cost of goods into revenue.
    • Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals and strategy.
    • Interacts with senior management within SCTG, its subsidiaries, or partnerships, where they may be a need to gain acceptance on new ventures, or an alternate approach to existing services.

    • ·Has some latitude in decision-making. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments whereby decisions have a major day-to-day impact on area of responsibility.
    • Coordinating with companies associated with SCTG, integrating service with hardware or software-based solutions that improve or enhance existing offerings.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

    • An excellent candidate will be able to demonstrate mastery of the following subjects:
    •    Thorough understanding of hyperscale cloud platforms and services
    •    Network design with at least one hyperscale cloud platform provider
    •    Experience in designing and/or deploying public cloud infrastructure solutions
    •    Experience with cloud migration strategies and deployments
    •    System administration working knowledge/experience on both Linux and Windows
    •    Familiarity with Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions provided by using hyperscale cloud services
    •    Working knowledge with virtualization technologies: VMware, Hyper-V, Xen, or KVM
    •    Ability to create and run customer facing presentations
    • Technology Architecture: Ability to holistically conceptualize and model the use of technologies across a broad set of business applications; to translate business strategies and requirements into technical strategies, and to apply IT architecture modeling to create achievable system designs for enterprise solutions. And to document such modeling to achieve scalable and repeatable processes. 
    •  IT Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the key directional trends and emerging technologies in cloud/virtualized computing industry. Includes knowledge of the key vendors, their strategic and tactical plans, and internal/external advisory services.
    • Infrastructure/Telecom/IP: Understanding of Data Center designs, both in a private and open access environment. Understanding of Layer 1 assets and design/deployment of telco transport services. Layer 2 designs and a solid understanding of the “Internet of Things” as it relates to interconnection technologies.

Requirements:

    • An active listener who engages with and translates customer requirements into SCTG solutions
    • Comfortable working in tight time-frames with simultaneous priorities
    • Strong working knowledge of data center environments, server, networking, and storage platforms
    • 3-5 years in the ISP/Data center/Managed Services industry or related field providing technical sales support or leadership
    • Professional qualification or a degree in a technical discipline
    • Minimum 8 years in IT or IT consulting
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Customer facing sales experience
