This contractor opportunity is for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who will actively work to improve the performance and reliability of our customers' Jira Data Center instance, as well as address root causes of incidents and reduce incident rates.

Work hours will be 9 am to 5 pm Pacific Time.

What you’ll be doing 💪
- Monitor application and infrastructure health using Datadog to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
- Conduct web application performance investigations and implement tuning measures to optimize Jira and Confluence responsiveness and throughput.
- Install, configure, and upgrade Jira and Confluence Data Center applications and related components.
- Design, deploy, and maintain the infrastructure for Atlassian Jira and Confluence Data Center deployments tailored to IT industry requirements.
- Perform regular maintenance, including backups, patching, and capacity planning to maintain system integrity.
- Plan and implement integrations of Jira and Confluence with other internal and third-party applications, APIs, and systems to streamline workflows and data synchronization.
- Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and DevOps to implement best practices for deployment, integration, and operations.
- Enforce security best practices, manage user access, and ensure compliance with internal and external IT policies.
- Document system architecture, integration points, operational procedures, and incident resolutions.
- Analyze performance metrics and recommend optimizations to improve system scalability and efficiency.
- Stay updated on Atlassian product updates, integration tools, IT industry trends, and monitoring tool enhancements.

What you’ll bring to the table 🧑‍💻
- Proven experience in managing Site Reliability Engineering
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments
- Experience working with Atlassian Jira and Confluence Data Center environments in IT organizations.
- Strong expertise in infrastructure setup, clustering, load balancing, and high availability configurations.
- Experience with integrating Jira and Confluence via APIs, webhooks, and plugins with other enterprise applications and systems.
- Proficient with Linux/Windows server environments and virtualization platforms.
- Experience managing databases supporting Atlassian applications (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle).
- Hands-on experience with Datadog for monitoring application and server performance, including web application performance investigation and tuning.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional IT teams.
