Seven Bridges is looking for an experienced Agile Coach to help transition our business from its existing work practices to infusing a real agile understanding from the top-down.
You will coach, mentor and guide our people to figure out the best solutions for their specific department challenges and advocate for the adoption of Lean-Agile methodologies.
You will analyze the organization's existing infrastructure and implement improvements to help streamline processes and create efficiencies. Ultimately, you will play a key role in the long-term strategy across the entire organization, helping our teams to deliver better products in a faster, more efficient manner.

Position Summary

The Agile Coach is a key position that will work alongside the Technical Executive team to achieve the Seven Bridges objective of changing how we work from a project-based organization to a product & platform-based organization. Your agile mindset will help to meet the teams where they are at in their agile journey and help to guide them through the forming, storming, norming, and into performing as great agile teams along with your Scrum Masters.

You will bring an advanced understanding of agile methodologies to the position so you can serve as both mentor, coach, and servant leader to the organization. You'll work closely with your team of Scrum Masters to ensure they are helping the teams and organization to think in an agile fashion and bring in agile practices of cadence based planning, sprint demos, retrospectives, Value stream mapping, using agile metrics, and constant improvement.

In conjunction with growing and leading a team of Scrum Masters, you will partner with the technical executive team and the product/program management teams to provide open lines of communication on ongoing progress while defining areas for improvement through the identification of blocker, gaps, pain points and training opportunities. Your contribution will be essential to the success of agile as a mindset and way of working within the organization as we transition from project to product mentality.

What you'll be doing:

    • Work with teams and executive team to analyze current systems and processes and design a strategy for the adoption of agile best practices
    • Guide Scrum Masters to help them stay on track with agile techniques, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure the overall strategy is being met
    • Lead Lean-Agile Workflow value stream mappings and other Lean-Agile workshops
    • Lead agile workshops for both development and functional teams, as well as key stakeholders
    • Promote and advocate a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones and being accountable for them
    • Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset and ensure the organization is at the forefront of industry best practices
    • Mentor your team to establish objectives and key results that balance delivery cycles with quality and responsible scoping. Work closely with scrum masters to establish team velocity to guide planning, prioritization, and budgeting with executive leadership.
    • Ensure there is clear alignment across scrum teams with business and customer value propositions as they are defined in the Lean Business Case, Epics and Features.
    • Facilitate learning and development through individual and team coaching
    • Coach senior management in agile practices to ensure adoption of best practices from top-down
    • Effectively communicate agile principles, scrum practices and overall operating model across the organization
    • Champion the use of metrics and other objective measures across teams
    • Keep an objective perspective on issues and troubleshoots by applying agile principles
    • Hold stand-up meetings with cross-functional teams to review Agile practices and metrics
    • Manage a team of Scrum Masters within the US and overseas

Do you have what it takes?

    • 5+ years of experience as an Agile Coach
    • Experience in Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe)
    • Desirable to have experience with other Agile practices
    • Experience working with teams both in the US and overseas
    • Can showcase examples of implementing agile techniques in different cultures and environments
    • Experience running agile projects of varying size and complexity
    • Strong leader, educator, and coach
    • An excellent communicator and motivator
    • Scrum Coach certification
    • Scrum Master certification
    • SAFe SPC 5.0 or higher
