The Job

    • Design and create overall marketing strategy in collaboration with team
    • Understand existing users and identify the ways in which we should be segmenting and speaking to our core audiences
    • Develop and own the voice of Shaper across all channels and medium
    • Work in partnership with graphic and video production resources to create compelling and authentic content for print ads, online ads, announcements to customers, blog posts, instructional materials, videos, e-communications, retail showcases, case studies, and more 
    • Manage the content and direction of our marketing website by directing resources to make site improvements, additions, and technical fixes 
    • Own and implement the marketing calendar with an ongoing queue of communications projects - product launches, trade shows, retail rollouts, and other seasonal promotions
    • Create content on social channels in close cooperation with the Product and Design teams 
    • Maintain press lists and relationships, pitch press on company news
    • Develop advertising strategies for print and online to support the marketing calendar
    • Manage customer data, including collection, segmentation, and list-building for communications purposes
    • Attend marketing events including select industry trade shows to interact directly with and learn about customers

    • Equally good at thinking strategically about finding new customers
    • A do-er, NOT an agency go-between
    • Bachelor’s degree. 3+ years experience in the field of marketing/advertising and publications, preferably knowledge in the tech or customer service environment
    • Outstanding verbal, written and editing skills
    • Experience writing successful marketing collateral including direct mail, brochures and advertising, online and social media
    • Ability to take initiative, think strategically, and work creatively
    • Highly motivated - must be comfortable prioritizing and coordinating multiple communication projects on tight deadlines
    • Collaborative, team player
    • Project management mindset
    • Scrappy, versatile and experimental; not afraid to try new things
    • Experience is important, but attitude and aptitude are just as important for success in this highly dynamic role

    • Experience with HubSpot, SEO, online ad platforms
    • Experience with and connections to PR and media outlets
    • Experience with social media and other customer engagement strategies
    • Experience with livestreams, Q&As
    • Experience with connected hardware products
    • Experience in woodworking or as a maker a major plus
    • You enjoy creating things and teaching others
