Engineering Project Manager - Hardware

Shaper is developing a revolutionary line of computer-augmented power tools, starting with a handheld CNC router called Origin. We’re looking for an experienced engineering project manager to help us create handheld robots to re-define making. You’ll be responsible for managing and executing project goals. You will manage project schedules, milestones and a variety of vendors, including our contract manufacturer. It is important that you have experience in product development and mid to high volume manufacturing environments.

The Job

    • Manage detailed product development schedules, milestones and budgets
    • Identify project tasks, track engineering issues and help coordinate with cross functional team members to close out actions
    • Manage external vendors to ensure project deliveries and schedules
    • Manage BOM and help define best practices for releases
    • Manage builds at our contract manufacturer
    • Coordinate engineering meetings and reviews with cross functional team (Hardware, SW, Mfg)

You

    • BS in engineering required, MS preferred. Or blow us away with equivalent knowledge
    • You have 3+ years of Consumer Electronics or Consumer Electro-Mechanical experience
    • You have strong organizational skills and project tracking abilities
    • You have experience developing products that combine hardware, software and manufacturing
    • You have experience working in an iterative and fast-paced environment
    • You have a track record of facilitating teams to make decisions quickly and efficiently
    • You have strong analytical/problem-solving skills and the ability to understand complex engineering issues
    • You have experience working with domestic & overseas manufacturers and supply chains
    • You’re excited to explore an entirely new field and develop products that real users will depend on!
