Based in San Francisco with offices in Stuttgart, Germany, Shaper was founded in 2012 with a mission of developing a revolutionary line of computer-augmented power tools, beginning first with a handheld CNC router called Origin. Today, Shaper supports thousands of woodworkers and craftspeople around the globe with the simple approach of developing tools to meet users' needs, rather than expecting users to conform to the tools.

We're looking for a talented Global Supply Manager to help make Shaper’s supply chain robust, effective and competitive. You will build and leverage strong working relationships with our engineering team and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. The ability to learn quickly and work cooperatively is a must.

The Job

    • Apply knowledge of supply-chain to critical components (metal, plastic, and electronics, modules etc) and contract manufacturing
    • Work closely with Product Development to identify potential suppliers for components
    • Track and manage costed BOM’s and Approved Supplier Lists for all products from NPI thru Production
    • Owner of sourcing for main programs and accessories
    • Drive the CM selection process for future products
    • Document Shaper AVL and qualification procedures
    • Lead coordination for cost down measures for existing production
    • Manage vendors and work to ensure on-time delivery to contract manufacturer
    • Owner of RFI's, RFP's and RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented
    • Negotiate pricing and establish clear terms with vendors
    • Detailed program management of vendors, ensuring on time delivery during NPI builds

You

    • 3+ years experience working in a similar role within a consumer electronics, robotics or automotive organization
    • An Engineering or Science degree is preferred for this position
    • Knowledge and experience in contract manufacturing
    • You have strong analytical/problem-solving skills and the ability to understand complex issues
    • Excellent program management skills
    • Strong Data driven, analytical approach
    • A good working knowledge of plastic materials, injection molding, sheet metal, and die-casting
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • You have experience working in an iterative and fast-paced environment
