Sharpsmart are currently recruiting for a Team Leader position, to be based at our Rainham Facility.  The Team Leader role is central to our Plant Operations, supporting our Management Teams and motivating the team on the Plant. The role will lead a small team, whilst working hands on alongside them. 
 
You will organise staff members and achieve a consistent workflow throughout the day. You will support the Plant supervisor in directing, performance managing, training, and assisting production employees on your shift.

WORKING HOURS : 45 hour working week Monday to Friday (core hours will be 7am-5pm however flexibility required to adapt around these hours for team needs)

Your role will involve:

    • Ensure team follow all work instructions, policies, and procedures including compliance and safety
    • Completes Shift handover duties
    • Supports the Plant Supervisor with Daily metric huddle meeting
    • Monitor Sharpsmart floor stock ​in line with production requirements and contingency levels and perform routine quality audit checks
    • Supports the Plant Supervisor to conduct regular quality assurance training to staff in line with metrics
    • Maintain record of machine performance, identify trends to maximise efficiency and report performance to Plant Supervisor and the onsite Maintenance Technician
    • Engages in effective communication across teams, departments, and organisation
    • Motivates and maintains a productive, professional, and customer-service oriented team
    • Ensures compliance with necessary safety procedures
    • Promote and lead the Pride in the Workplace programme

Candidate Profile:

    • 3+ years plant/warehouse leadership experience (or relatable experience)
    • Mechanical background advantageous
    • Proven experience in improving processes and procedures
    • Occasionally working in confined spaces; extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing
