The Laboratory Manager is the key person responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. They ensure everything runs smoothly and meets quality standards, leading a team of technicians and managing safety protocols. This role involves coordinating sample handling processes and collaborating with the Materials Team to integrate innovative solutions.

The Laboratory Manager is also involved in making sure equipment is working correctly and troubleshooting any issues. Beyond that, they contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and play a crucial role in achieving project goals effectively. This job requires a combination of leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to get things done right.

Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily operations of the laboratory.
    • Lead and mentor a team of laboratory technicians.
    • Implement quality control protocols of Lab
    • Manage equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
    • Coordinate sample handling from collection to analysis.
    • Collaborate with Materials Team
    • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety (H&S) standards.
    • Conduct training sessions for laboratory personnel on safety protocols.
    • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory processes.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related fields .
    • Proven experience in laboratory management.
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
    • Familiarity with quality control standards and compliance.
    • Knowledge and experience in fiber and/or polymer analysis.
    • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
    • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and embraces change.
    • Previous experience setting up a laboratory is a plus.
