The Job:

    • Work together with teams from different fields on important projects to make sure the processes and equipment are designed correctly.
    • Check the technical specifications, find out what the designs need, and explain engineering ideas for solutions and systems.
    • Make the technical specifications, find suppliers, and get quotes for the equipment and parts needed for projects.
    • Check and sign electrical engineering documents (you need to have a valid engineering license).
    • Supervise projects from start to finish, including the design, implementation, and launch phases.
    • Work with the facilities team to provide technical support when necessary.
    • Help create and update the plan for automating processes.
    • Lead efforts to improve automation and make it work better.
    • Keep in touch with equipment manufacturers to meet deadlines and stay within the budget.
    • Communicate and coordinate with contractors to make sure they deliver what's needed

What we need from you:

    • You'll need a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering to get in the game.
    • At least 5 years of experience under your belt is a must.
    • We're looking for someone with skills in industrial automation, controls, and data acquisition.
    • You should be a pro at handling system schematics and rocking high-level system design.
    • Familiarity with different industrial communication protocols like Modbus/RTU and TCP/IP is a big plus.
    • Experience in designing motor control units (MCU) will definitely amp up your profile.
    • If you've got a knack for designing explosion-proof systems, following those applicable standards, you'll fit right in.
    • Being a member of the OIQ or having a P. Eng. designation will add some serious street cred.
    • A solid understanding of safety integrity levels, according to the relevant standards (like IEC), is crucial.
    • Knowing your way around electrical safety standards like CSA and UL is a major plus.
    • And if you're comfortable working with CAD tools like Autocad Electrical or SEE Electrical, that's music to our ears.
