Job Description:
The Applications team under Software Integration & Operations (SIO) builds custom, high-impact internal tools that enable mission-critical operations across Customer Success, Production, and Engineering. These tools span over-the-air (OTA) update systems, simulation training tools, maintenance and fleet sustainment software, and enterprise applications for aircraft manufacturing.

We are hiring a software developer with full stack expertise in building web applications - someone who can independently own the design, implementation, and deployment of robust software solutions for manufacturing execution and resource planning for our aircraft production lines. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in an agile, fast-moving environment and has experience delivering enterprise web applications for operational domains like vehicle manufacturing execution, enterprise resource planning, or fleet sustainment.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional software teams to deliver tools that directly improve aircraft manufacturing, flight operations, and training. Your contributions will be shipped and used weekly; you and the team will provide long-term ownership over the apps you build.

SIO-Applications is a young team and quickly growing; you will support the team lead (your manager) in driving daily execution of the technical roadmap and scale the team itself.

What you'll do:

    • Upon hire, immediately take over daily development and release cycles of internal software solutions for our evolving VBAT MESand ERP needs
    • Own features end-to-end — from backend APIs and data models to user interfaces — ensuring quality, performance, and security.
    • Work directly with operational stakeholders across Production and Customer Success to deeply understand real-world problems and translate them into impactful software tools.
    • Deliver continuously by deploying well-tested, maintainable code and iterating quickly based on user feedback
    • Collaborate closely with Applications, DevOps, Simulation, and GCS software teams to ensure smooth integration of your applications into existing systems and user workflows.
    • Integrate with data platforms such as Palantir Foundry, helping extend and visualize datasets in custom-built operational interfaces.
    • Support the Applications team lead by taking on loosely defined tasks, making sound architecture decisions, and driving project execution with minimal oversight.

Required qualifications:

    • 6+ years of professional experience in full-stack web application development, with proven experience designing and owning software deployed to customers.
    • Strong command of modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or equivalent).
    • Backend development expertise using Node.js, Python, or Go, with experience designing RESTful APIs and managing service interactions.
    • Strong data analytical skills, having the ability to reveal and present data-driven insights, working with large data sets and models to do so.
    • Strong familiarity with relational databases and experience designing scalable data models.
    • Strong software design, testing, and documentation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive high-level software projects forward with minimal direction.
    • Track record of excellence – demonstrating impressive accomplishments and capacity to create value through software you write

Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar enterprise data platforms.
    • Background in manufacturing, maintenance, or aerospace operations software.
    • Familiarity with microservice architecture and container-based deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
    • Exposure to systems involving OTA updates, digital twins, telemetry ingestion, or operational dashboards.
