As a Senior Staff Full Stack Software Engineer within the Hivemind on X - Commander solutions organization, you will be a key full stack engineering leader, mentor, and individual contributor to a rapidly growing team of talented software engineers working on complex map-based React/TypeScript frontend and C++ backend software integration projects that leverage and extend our Hivemind Enterprise product for mission critical customer solutions on aircraft platforms like V-BAT, XQ-58, and F-16 for mission sets that include intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). 

What you'll do:

    • Contribute to the frontend of Hivemind Commander product solutions that are revolutionizing the way human beings engage with teams of autonomous air vehicles.
    • Develop UI and UX elements for mission planning and command and control of autonomous systems based on design specifications.
    • Manage large streams of incoming data for performant renderings and delightful user experiences.
    • Scrum cross-functionally with product and program management, frontend, backend, and autonomy engineers, UX designers and researchers, human factors, systems and tests engineers, and other key stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with our operators, test pilots, and instructors to enhance the UX of autonomous robotic systems.

Required Qualifications:

    • BS/MS in Computer Science or similar degree and 10+ years' experience developing large, production-quality software systems with relevant technologies (TypeScript, React).
    • Excellent grasp of modern software development and coding patterns and principles
    • Proficient in Linux development environments leveraging common tooling like Git, Bash, Docker, and Visual Studio Code.
    • Demonstrated track record of day-to-day grit, ability to be rigorous and go fast, being a candid and trustworthy teammate, and being kind to others.
    • Experience in a collaborative development environment, focused on continuous integration/delivery & test-driven development. 
    • Strong sense of ownership and ability to adapt to high-intensity work in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Good software hygiene regarding code documentation, unit testing, bug tracking and resolution. 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with C++17 or newer in a production environment.
    • Experience with technical leadership or people management.
    • Experience with geospatial data and WebGL.
    • Experience applying design systems to UI components 
    • Experience with WebSockets and Electron (or similar) 
    • Experience with Playwright UI testing or similar
