Job Description:
Shield AI’s mission is to protect the lives of service members and civilians with intelligent systems. The Hardware Test Engineering team contributes to this effort by designing test solutions that drive high hardware reliability on both V-BAT vehicle and our next generation aircraft. These solutions are in-house designed electrical and mechanical equipment used to perform component and system-level testing, both at ambient and in simulated harsh environmental conditions. In this role, you will design the facilities that host test stands for jet engines and their accessories. You will design or specify concrete slabs, buildings, HVAC, plumbing, structures, etc. for jet engine test stands. Help us save lives as we strive to deliver the most highly reliable aerospace hardware in the industry. 

What you'll do:

    • Own requirements gathering, design, and buildup of multiple test sites for jet engine testing.   
    • Perform analysis on structures designed to transport and test jet engines.
    • Specify facilities requirements (electrical, plumbing, etc.) for test sites.
    • Contribute to and attend cross-functional design reviews. Advocate for design changes that result in simpler testing processes. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 

Required qualifications:

    • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related STEM field.  
    • Mastery of fundamental engineering concepts, including Civil Engineering, Mech E, EE, Programming, Physics, and Mathematics.  
    • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, etc… (NX preferred). 
    • Experience in performing structural analysis.
    • Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects, which can be from an internship, job, club, team, personal project, etc… 
    • Demonstrated history of showing ownership of project outcomes and delivering exceptional results.  
    • Record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others. 

Preferred qualifications:

    • PE License in the states of Texas or Kansas.
    • Experience with jet engine or rocket engine testing.
    • Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and the ability to innovate under pressure to meet dynamic project demands and drive successful outcomes.
