A communications manager for Asia-Pacific drives external and internal communications to support the company’s growing footprint across the region. The role includes managing media relations, trade show and event communications, and coordinating with European aerospace and defense partners to amplify Shield AI’s message. They ensure consistent brand voice across press releases, social channels, and thought leadership while tailoring messaging for regional audiences. The position also involves close collaboration with Shield AI’s U.S. comms team to align European efforts with global strategy and highlights company milestones.

What you'll do:

    • Develop and execute communications strategies that support Shield AI’s growth and partnerships across Asia and Oceania.
    • Manage media relations, including pitching stories, handling press inquiries, and building relationships with regional defense and aerospace journalists.
    • Lead communications for trade shows, conferences, and partner events, ensuring Shield AI’s messaging is clear, compelling, and consistent with global strategy.
    • Create and adapt content for European audiences across press releases, social channels, and thought leadership platforms.
    • Work as part of Shield AI’s global communications team to align regional initiatives with company-wide goals and highlight company milestones.

Required qualifications:

    • 5–7+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields, ideally in aerospace, defense, or technology.
    • Proven ability to manage communications strategy at both regional and global levels, with strong media relations skills.
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
    • Experience leading communications for major events, trade shows, or partner announcements.
    • Familiarity with the European aerospace and defense landscape, including key industry players and government stakeholders.
    • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience working in or alongside multinational organizations with complex regulatory and political environments.
    • Fluency in one or more European languages beyond English.
    • Background in crisis communications or issues management in sensitive, high visibility sectors.
    • Strong network of media contacts in defense, aerospace, and technology across Asia/Oceania.
