As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll collaborate with our product team and engineers to create and maintain systems that enable our user’s most critical workflows through our web app


Shipping & Handling responsibilities:

    • Translate complex requirements into elegant, performant features and products
    • Build end-to-end solutions spanning APIs, services, databases, and modern UIs
    • Deliver robust, well-tested code and own features from design through production
    • Contribute reusable components that improve product consistency and scalability
    • Participate in architectural discussions and technical breakdowns
    • Provide technical insights in planning and review to streamline deliverySupport QA by strengthening test automation
    • Participate in on-call rotation and respond quickly to incidents
    • Implement telemetry and tools to analyze user behavior, technical impact, and business outcomes

Requirements

    • 4+ years of software development experience, including building and maintaining distributed systems
    • Experience working across both backend and frontend development
    • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
    • Strong experience with modern UI frameworks (React with hooks and context API), libraries (Redux, Tanstack Query, MUI), and testing frameworks (Jest, Testing Library, Playwright)
    • Familiarity with server-side programming (Python, Go, Java, Ruby) and microservice frameworks (FastAPI, RESTful services)
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
    • Solid understanding of software design principles, OOP, and design patterns
    • Ability to debug and optimize full-stack applications for performance and scalability
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
    • Passion for user-friendly, reliable applications and a mindset of continuous learning
    • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Bonus

    • Experience in shipping or logistics
    • API integration experience (REST, GraphQL, gRPC)
    • Familiarity with Django
    • Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Terraform, CircleCI, New Relic, PagerDuty)
    • AWS/Cloud services expertise.
$133,000 - $181,000 a year
We believe compensation is a custom experience and are commited to fair and equitable compensation practices. The standard base pay range for this role is min is $133k to a max $181k annual salary. We tend to anchor our pay in the middle of this range ($157k). Since we are focused on hiring Shippos Everywhere, we have 2 US pay ranges, a standard compensation range for the majority of the US and a standard +1 compensation range for those who live in areas where the cost of labor is higher, such as NYC and California.
The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: financial budgets, work experience, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market value. The base pay salary ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future. Total compensation for this role will include, equity, medical, dental, vision and other benefits noted in our Shippos “package” section.
