To continue building the best product for our merchants globally, we also need to continue to hire a diverse and talented team. The role of the Employer Brand Marketing Lead will be to create the appropriate strategy and team that will raise awareness of Shopify as an employer, and build both short-term and long-term tactics to drive talented people to Shopify. There is an incredible amount of opportunity with this role, and we are looking for someone to help shape our approach and leverage the right tactics to execute it.

You'll need to have:

    • Multi channel marketing experience
    • A deep understanding of the global tech talent landscape, specifically the Canadian talent environment, and an understanding of how to build a sustainable point of difference
    • Proven experience building employer marketing strategies for complex, international organizations
    • Experience building a corporate or employer marketing team with an understanding of how to build inclusive campaigns that drive results
    • Demonstrated tactics that drive leads and long term partnerships that build employer brand awareness and consideration
    • The ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage many stakeholders across a complex organization

It'd be great if you also had:

    • Agency management experience
    • Direct experience in talent recruitment

You'll get to do things like:

    • Build an employer marketing practice from the ground up
    • Build and execute a strategy for the top talent segments at Shopify such as Engineering, UX, Product, Data, and Customer Support
    • Leverage existing discipline-based communications functions to build a long term strategy for employer brand marketing
    • Create integrated employer brand marketing campaigns across digital/social, experiential, content and other relevant areas
    • Create thought leadership platforms to highlight and promote Shopify as a best-in-class employer
    • Collaborate closely across the organization with all other relevant Marketing groups including Brand Strategy, Corporate Communications, Social Media, UX, Experiential Marketing and Community Relations
    • Build a short term and long term investment funnel, working with Community Relations and Diversity and Inclusion teams as necessary
    • Create and measure determinants of success for all employer brand marketing tactics
    • Partner with Recruiting, Diversity and Inclusion, Marketing, and Communications, Community Relations, Culture, technical teams, and employee resource groups to find opportunities and solutions to support recruiting and employer brand goals
