Our App and Partner team helps merchants meet 100% of their individual needs through apps and services. We directly impact Shopify by solving diverse, individual merchant problems at scale through apps and services created by the third party partner ecosystem.
The endless diversity of our merchants means that each of them requires niche features in commerce that don’t necessarily align with Shopify’s priorities. To counter this, our strategy to make sure merchants have everything they need is to leverage the third party partner ecosystem to build features that we haven’t. They deliver these features in the form of apps and services, and our goal is to enable these apps to work seamlessly in the merchant’s workflow in Shopify. The Apps team works with third-party developers who are looking to build the next great commerce app on Shopify. We're a nimble team and will be venturing into new and unknown territory. As a member of the API Support team, you'll work closely with our API, support and development teams to solve tough technical issues with third-party developers. Hello

You'll need to have:

    • Development skills and technical depth to answer questions, troubleshoot and problem solve unique problems with third-party developers
    • The ability to explain products, features, and functionality with technical accuracy and simplicity
    • A track record of positive customer-facing service experience
    • We want to hear about any of your freelance work, retail experience, community management, etc
    • Experience working with web APIs
    • Experience with server-side web application development with Ruby, Python, PHP, or Node.js
    • Experience with client-side development with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
    • Experience with Git

It would be great if you have experience with:

    • Other programming languages
    • SQL
    • GraphQL

You'll be working on things like:

    • Diving into the Shopify forums, discovering where developers are getting stuck and helping them find answers
    • Working closely with the Apps, Partners and API teams to quickly answer questions and solve unique problems for third-party developers building apps on Shopify
    • Exploring existing developer resources, identifying any shortcomings with them, and implementing improvements
