At ShyftLabs, we live and breathe data. Since 2020, we’ve been helping Fortune 500 companies unlock growth with cutting-edge digital solutions that transform industries and create measurable business impact. We’re growing fast and we’re looking for passionate problem-solvers who are ready to turn big ideas into real outcomes.

About Carter
Carter is a commerce media platform that helps retailers monetize their web and app properties through advertising. It enables retailers and brands to run automated omnichannel campaigns across onsite, offsite (programmatic, social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snap, Pinterest, TikTok), and in-store channels. Our technology has evolved beyond traditional advertising platforms into a conversational commerce experience, but the user interface and experience need to catch up with this innovation.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a visionary Product Designer to lead the UI/UX transformation of our Carter platform into a cutting-edge Conversational Commerce Media Platform. In this contractor role, you’ll reimagine enterprise advertising technology, design intuitive conversational interfaces, and deliver a complete platform redesign within one month. You will work closely with founders and product leadership to ensure the experience is innovative, engaging, and delightful.

What You’ll Be Doing

    • Transform Carter’s platform from a traditional ad interface into natural conversational workflows.
    • Design AI-powered guidance features that help users discover opportunities and optimize performance.
    • Create contextual intelligence within the platform to proactively guide users, like an expert media strategist.
    • Develop UI/UX redesign mockups for core platform workflows using Figma.
    • Build interactive prototypes demonstrating conversational interface patterns.
    • Document a design system for new conversational components.
    • Map user journeys to illustrate the “wow” experience and ensure delightful interactions.
    • Stay updated on design trends, conversational UI patterns, and SaaS UX best practices.

What You Bring

    • 3+ years of product design experience, preferably with SaaS platforms.
    • Portfolio demonstrating radical rethinking of conventional software interfaces.
    • Experience designing conversational UIs or chat-based workflows.
    • Solid understanding of enterprise software design, making complex workflows simple and intuitive.
    • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Experience creating design systems and working with component libraries.
    • Knowledge of responsive design across desktop and mobile platforms.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to innovate quickly under tight timelines.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work with founders and product teams.
    • Bonus: Background in advertising technology or other complex domains.
