Siepe is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer - Financials to drive the evolution of our document processing pipeline—an integral part of our Financial Intelligence Platform. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions for automated financial document analysis, data extraction, and regulatory reporting for investment management firms.

This next-generation pipeline ingests, interprets, and transforms complex financial documents—including financial statements, annual reports, and regulatory filings—using a combination of advanced OCR, large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, and workflow automation. It bridges unstructured document formats with structured financial data, enabling institutional clients to unlock real-time insights from regulatory and investor communications.

What You'll Be Doing

    • Architect and evolve a scalable document processing and LLM inference pipeline
    • Define and enforce coding standards and financial data best practices
    • Optimize performance across ingestion pipelines, query engines, and APIs
    • Evaluate and apply cutting-edge technologies for document understanding and financial analysis
    • Design secure systems that align with data privacy and financial compliance mandates
    • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 4–6 engineers
    • Guide agile sprint cycles with a focus on speed, quality, and innovation
    • Perform rigorous code and architecture reviews
    • Support career development through mentorship and knowledge sharing
    • Collaborate with investment analysts, operations teams, and internal stakeholders
    • Translate nuanced financial workflows into technical execution plans
    • Balance innovation with technical debt and platform reliability
    • Ensure business requirements are met with high accuracy and data integrity

What You Will Bring

    • 8+ years of software development experience; 5+ years in fintech or investment management
    • Expert-level C#/.NET skills and microservice architecture experience
    • Strong SQL with database design skills, with a focus on financial modeling
    • Proficiency with AWS (Bedrock, Textract, Lambda, Step Functions, S3)
    • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining RESTful APIs
    • Experience with Angular/TypeScript for frontend dashboards
    • 3+ years managing technical teams in agile, fast-paced environments
    • Proven track record of shipping large-scale, data-intensive platforms
    • Strong communicator with the ability to bridge technical and business goals
    • Familiarity with investment management, regulatory reporting, and document-driven financial analysis
    • Experience in building systems for document ingestion, data extraction, and compliance reporting
    • Applied experience with GPT or large language models in document processing contexts
    • DevOps experience with CI/CD, container orchestration, and IaC
    • CFA, FRM, or equivalent financial certifications
    • Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting frameworks
    • Exposure to capital markets technology, including portfolio management or risk platforms
