The Team: Engineering Team
The Platform team designs, builds, and maintains scalable backend web services that are the core of SigFig’s investment platform. In addition to software that enables SigFig’s clients to achieve their financial goals, the Platform team builds and maintains tools that are used within the company. We are a distributed team with members working from homes and various SigFig offices across the globe. 

The Opportunity: QA Engineer
As a QA Analyst, you will serve as the main point of contact for all things accessibility. You will partner up with the QA leaders on the accessibility audits, proactively engage with internal and external teams to shape accessibility roadmap and strategies to move forward, with a focus on expanding customer retention and growth. You will be responsible to maintain and grow subject matter expertise within the industry and deliver expert level accessibility and process improvements.

How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Performing regular accessibility audits of institutional websites and web applications
    • Be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of accessible semantically rich features via a strong accessibility stack of HTML, CSS, ARIA and scripting
    • Working in collaboration with project managers, designers, developers, and quality assurance engineers
    • Participating in the review and maintenance of guidelines, best practices and standards related accessible websites
    • Maintaining awareness of industry standards, issues and trends in accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies
    • Identifying and suggest potential solutions for accessibility

Ideal SigFigian for this Role

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accessibility testing on web and mobile applications
    • Basic knowledge and experience with web technologies (HTML/CSS, and Javascript)
    • Familiar with web accessibility and ADA standards
    • Ability to quickly learn and assess new technologies, digital tools and platforms for accessibility conformance and potential impact on individuals with disabilities
    • Experience using automated accessibility testing tools such as Axe, Access Continuum, and WAVE
    • Practical experience with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and/or other accessibility technologies
    • Knowledge of WAI guidelines and specifications such as WCAG, ATAG, UAAG, and WAI-ARIA
    • Accessibility testing using features like high contrast mode and color contrast
    • Familiarity with accessibility features on mobile devices
