Silvus is a rapidly-growing high-tech entrepreneurial company in the heart of West Los Angeles. The company delivers the most technologically advanced Mobile Ad-Hoc Networking (MANET) solution to multiple markets including: Law Enforcement; Unmanned Systems; and Military, among others. Along with its successful MANET product line, the company also delivers on ground breaking research in the area of wireless data communications. The company has experienced rapid growth over the past 12 months and is expecting the rate of growth to continue with the introduction of new products and services. 


The Opportunity

Silvus Technologies is seeking a Director of Sales for our Department of Defense (DoD) Team who works directly with the Senior Director of DoD Programs and actively participate in all aspects of the sales cycle, for both existing and emerging markets/channels among specific Services and sub-specialties in the DoD market. This job is for someone who has a passion for tactical communications technology, who will take ownership for both contributions to individual and team projects, and who can manage their assigned DoD market segments.

Responsibilities

Direct sales into assigned target markets with responsibility over the entire sales process.
Responsible for all stages of customer interaction from initial contact, through final sales and follow-on contact.
Identify new market segments and opportunities that build on the company’s core MANET solutions in the specific Services and sub-specialties in the DoD market.
Secure relationships with business partners and customers in the DoD market segments.
Identify and lead efforts to include customer/opportunity cultivation and, sales presentations and demonstrations, proposal writing, and cost inputs based on known customer budget limits within specific Services and sub-specialties in the DoD market. Identify opportunities and potential competition, document key customer requirements obtained from meetings with key customers and customer decision makers.
Develop an annual target of new business to help the current growth in the specific Services and sub-specialties in the DoD market. Build a pipeline of deals into our CRM database to inform leadership of potential opportunities.
Keep up on trends, changes, and competitor actions that might affect our position within the markets.
Identify key conferences and trade shows – be the primary POC (with oversight from Senior Director) to schedule booth space and preparation for current and future events.
Travel in support of trade shows, demos, and customer meetings.
Show initiative, take ownership of tasks, exhibit leadership.
Some administrative functional support as needed.

Qualifications

Must be a U.S. person U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident due to clients under U.S. government contracts
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum Experience:
5-7 years of Sales experience (or equivalent experience)
Military Background Preferred
Sales or Business Development background in a technical field (or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with networked military and commercial communication products and government contracting is a significant plus. Proven accomplishments in a Sales or leadership position

Skills Required:
(RF) Communications or Cryptologic background
Ability to draft product and application proposals and quotes as needed as well as a proven ability to conduct analysis, projections/forecasts and key account approach planning in their
market area of responsibility. Superb verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to collaborate across the team/company to ensure effective and efficient communications.
Security Clearances Required:
Active U.S. Government Security Clearance or ability to obtain one
Travel requirements:
May require travel 1 - 2 weeks per month (within CONUS, typically between M-F).
