The company has experienced rapid growth over the past 12 months and is expecting the rate of growth to continue with the introduction of new products and services.
The Opportunity

The company delivers the most technologically advanced Mobile Ad-Hoc Networking (MANET) solution to multiple markets including: Law Enforcement; Unmanned Systems; and Military, among others. Along with its successful MANET product line, the company also delivers ground breaking research in the area of wireless data communications. The company has experienced rapid growth over the past 24 months and is expecting the rate of growth to continue with the introduction of new products and services.
The Controller will be a key position within the company and will report directly to the executive management team. This role will develop and ensure compliance with accounting practices and procedures, develop forward-looking insights based on historical data and provide support to meet and implement government compliance requirements. This position is on a hybrid schedule, a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected.
Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen).
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP and other appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and actual expenditures.
- Manage month-end close and create the month-end and quarterly reporting package.
- Manage organizational cash flow forecasting.
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the company’s financial and operating performance.
- Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
- Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including variances.
- Review and recommend credit terms for new customers.
- Assist in managing vendor relations, including commercial banking, lessors, casualty/liability insurance brokers, credit card companies, payroll services, and collection agencies.
- Serve as the accounting point of contact with Human Resources, benefits broker, 401(k) advisor, Commerce, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Government compliance consultant, and tax accountant.
- Understanding the Federal Acquisition Regulation guidelines for Government cost accounting is a plus.
- Assist in implementing an ERP accounting/inventory system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
- CPA license is perferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Knowledge of various tax regulations and reporting.
- Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR and EAR will be a BIG plus.
Knowledge
- Cost Accounting and inventory experience required.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
Compensation
$145-165k
